Deciding that someone you love needs a care home is one of the hardest things a family does. Most people arrive at it worn out and guilty, unsure whether they are doing the right thing.
We can't make that easy. What we can do is be straightforward about what we are good at and where we fall short, so you can decide properly rather than hopefully.
Eryri Residence is a residential care home for up to twenty-seven older people, on a hillside above Llanberis with the Dinorwic quarry behind and Llyn Padarn below. It is run by Plas Garnedd Llanberis Limited and registered with Care Inspectorate Wales.
The building
Twenty-six bedrooms, two floors, one lift
Twenty-five are single rooms. One is a double, so a married couple need not be separated. That is rarer than it ought to be.
There are two lounges, a dining room and a conservatory that faces east and fills with sun first thing in the morning. A quiet room, for when families want to sit somewhere private. Outside, a level lawn runs the length of the building, with a greenhouse and a summer house.
